OK..something is up with Mom.
I dunno what it is.
She came home other day after work in tears. Naturally, Jay made all over her. Got her situated on the couch. He brought her tea. It was like, who's the girlfriend here?
Anyway, she starts to tell us that she's certain something is wrong with her.
"Like what?" Jay stares at her as if he'd will it out of her.
"I almost ran over a man in his electric chair." She sniffs into a tissue. "I could have killed a man today." She looks at both us, like she could be the Terminator.
"But you didn't." Jay squints. We both know my Mom could never do that. Never.
"But you didn't, Mom." I sigh as if this really wasn't that big of a deal. But she's so quiet, like the horror is on repeat in her head.
"OH GOD, WHAT IF IT HAD BEEN A BABY?" Now she's really cracking. Jay hugs her.
All I can hear is the word BABY. I thought I might have a seizure. I look at them both.
I know..I know..I'm not thinking about what happened. But what could happen. A baby in our lives would change everything.

This had a lot of small comedy in it. It was cute, and maybe it's just early but this made me smile.

I feel bad for her Mom. I love her reaction.
Oh, her Mom must really be emotional right now.
